Mac Security Behind

Mac security is ten years behind Microsoft, and it isn't that hard to figure out why.  More people have PCs than macs, and the virus wants to target as many computers as possible.  So, it is safe to assume, that most viruses target PC computers.
That doesn't mean that I approve of Apple's lack of development in security.  Maybe they didn't get many viruses, but it is better to be safe than sorry.  They should have looked into the future to see potential problems and prevent them.  That's a reasonable thing to ask of people who create computers.
Macs and PCs are different in many ways, but the quality of security shouldn't be.  I want to feel safe from viruses on my computer, and I'm sure most people want it too.

Robberies

There are two types of robberies that I'm going to address.  One is a planned robbery, the other is a crime of opportunity.  Which is worse?  I am inclined to believe that planned robbery is worse.
When you see an opportunity to commit a crime, such as a person dropping money, and you want it, it's hard to resist the temptation.  Most people would consider taking the money for themselves, and at least half will actually take it.  It is hard to resist.
A planned robbery shows that you really want to do this.  It isn't about temptation.  You know what you're doing, and you don't really care about the other person.  It shows that you believe that you are above the law.  So, planned robbery is worse.

Penguin Nips Gingrich

Recently, there was an article about Newt Gingrich getting nipped by a penguin, and getting a band aide.  I'm not going to pretend that I think this belongs in a newspaper at all, but if I had to choose a section for this article it would be a print feature.
This article could never be in news, as it isn't important enough.  It had nothing to do with sports, and it isn't a puzzle or comic.  I can't see how it could be an opinion, as there's no one I can think of that would bother forming an important opinion about it.
Honestly, this article should never have even made it into a newspaper in the first place.  It's irrelevant to everyone, and no one really cares.  People need band-aides all the time.  Just because it's Newt Gingrich doesn't make it entertaining or important.

Profanity on a Computer

A student was expelled for using profanity on a school issued laptop.  Is this right, or is the student allowed to do whatever they want with the laptop?  I think that it depends on whether or not the school told  the students they couldn't use profanity on their laptops.  If they didn't the school doesn't really have the right to punish the student.
That's not to say I approve of the student's actions.  It was idiotic to do something like that on a school issued laptop.  It is pretty obvious that the school would be tracking what you are typing, so I don't know what he was thinking.  This student is a high school senior, so he should be smart enough to realize this.
It just shows that you have to be careful about what you post on the Internet with.  It's possible that expelling the student was a little extreme, but he if he was stupid enough to curse using a school issued laptop then he probably deserves it.
